Who you are and what sessions are like:
Who you are
Let's work together if you:
If you have mental health conditions, especially dissociative, psychotic, schizoaffective, or neurological disorders like seizures, please consult your doctor before working with me.
People I've worked with from many backgrounds (military veteran men, energyworkers, parents and young kids, etc.) told me that my sessions were helpful. But I'm not formally trained to work with anyone who's under 18, or has drug dependencies, severe mental health conditions (e.g., severe anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive compulsiveness, personality disorders (e.g., antisocial, bipolar, borderline personality, dissociative identity), or suicidal ideation. If you or your kid are in those situations and we still decide to work together, please know that I don't give refunds. Also, if you'd like me to work with your kid, I need to at least have a session with you alone first.
If I sense that I might not be able to help you, I'll compassionately tell you as soon as possible, sometimes even before a session.
If you want less pessimism, prejudice, pollution, or pain for all creatures, let's meet
Feel free to work with me if you either:
I highly recommend that you start with a one-hour breathwork, qigong, or tuning fork session. Also, I'm always learning something new. So for updates or subscribe to my definitely rare, possibly funny emails or social media. Or try a session because I don't always have time to share updates publicly.
Schedule sessions with me (and see why three sessions are recommended). I only book sessions through that link.
What all sessions are like
How I strive to be super-sensitive to your situation
For decades, I've been voted most fun, trippy, and sober ;) I avoid things that dull my senses, such as alcohol and marijuana. I was a teenager the first and last time I had coffee. I eat no animal products, and I rarely eat sugar or grains. I do it for you, me, the animals, and our planet. But I'm still fun at parties!
What I do before I work with you
Below are a few of the many steps I take to make sure I'm at my best at your session. I've received sessions where the practitioner was not present (e.g., very emotionally or physically unwell or sleep-deprived, on non-prescription drugs, talked about themselves or their tragic life more than a quarter of the time in ways that weren't related to my session). I'm a very understanding person. But it would have benefited both of us if they canceled. So for your benefit:
Why I don't call myself a healer, guide, or teacher
Based on my experience as a practitioner and client, I've seen client results last longer when they create their own transformation as opposed to only expecting the practitioner do that. For example, I'll ask you some questions because you benefit more if you use your intuition to understand your situation instead of having me to do it during your whole session. When I have a session with you, I use all my senses to listen to what your spirit and body are ready to do. I offer insights and tips so you can heal yourself.
I'm just a human doing the best I can in life, just like you. I also like staying a student. I probably love learning a little too much.
Compassionate care
Studies show people recover quicker when they feel compassionate care. Communicating compassionately can be helpful. Sometimes it can also help to not sugarcoat everything. So if you don't want me to sugarcoat, tell me!
Queer-friendly, nonjudgmental keeper of secrets
People often tell me all kinds of things that they don't tell anyone else because they know their secret is safe with me. I might have heard it all! Also, I won’t share your name or contact information with anyone. I don’t have time for that :)
Let's resolve as much as we can in three sessions so you don’t have to come back
I won’t give a sales pitch after your session. Yeah, I dislike that too. If all goes well, you won’t need to come back. If you ask and if I have time, I might refer you to all kinds of interesting self-care or other energyworkers and bodyworkers.
Minimizing cultural appropriation
I don’t display deities, religious figures, or symbols, or use them as tattoos, or name companion animals after them because that can be disrespectful. (That can even get people kicked out of some countries.) If you’re curious, here are some ways to look at cultural appropriation, how mindfulness erased Asian people and cultures, and how to respect the Buddha. For example, you won’t find Buddha heads in my home because people tend not to put severed heads of Catholic or Christian figures in their homes.
I also try my Chinese culture's practices, such as burning incense instead of sage and palo santo.
In many cultures, healing practices are passed down only to people who are ready. In 2002, Irma Iniguez, a long-time reiki master and healer of many modalities, told me that I'd be doing similar work as her. I didn't believe her. I thought she told all her clients that. But everyone I referred to her said she didn't. In 2022, I felt compelled to learn reiki though I didn't know why. When I started my first reiki class, my teacher even told me in class that he could tell I didn't believe it'd work. Well, the joke was on me because reiki was my gateway drug to many other modalities.
Also, I honor my teachers by listing them on my website. And for everyone's safety, I don't practice or teach things I'm not authorized to share from my teachers.
And I try to make my services accessible by offering the most affordable sliding scale rates that I can.
I speak conversational Mandarin, understand some Cantonese, get by with Spanish
I was raised to be bilingual in English and Mandarin. And I'm fluent in mime!
What I do when I work with you
Breathwork
Start here! The missing link in many modalities (even in some that I offer) seems to be how to breathe, gently, and slowly based on studies and classes I attended.
Dreamwork
To me, dreamwork is one of the quickest and most powerful healing method out of everything I've tried. There are lots of dreamwork methods. Based on my experience with unintentional, multi-sensory, vivid dreams for at least 30 years, I believe the dreamer is the one who knows the message of the dream. I have experienced the power of receiving what I didn't even know I needed when I dreamed of it first. I've also accidentally received helpful information for others through dreams.
Dreamwork can help you be even more lucid in your waking life. For example, it can help you be more lucid choices you can make. If you want to heal, we can work together. We can play first with understanding what your dream is telling you about your physical or emotional health and more, and if needed, re-enter it with or without re-writing it before, or combining dreamwork with energywork, hypnotherapy, or sound therapy. If you want, I can also tell you what I think your dream means based on my intuition, classes, and Chinese dream analysis.
Unlike a lot of "lucid dreaming how-to's," I try not to strip out the spiritual side. For example, I highly recommend that you try Tibetan dream yoga. I'm not qualified to teach it. But I can suggest people that can.
Energywork
We won't talk much except in the beginning and end. I might invite you do any or all of the following in each section below.
Kundalini activation process (KAP): Lie down. I might rest my hands on you and play music to help you feel all the feels! (Coming soon! Most likely in 2027.)
KAP can be one of the quickest and most powerful healing method out of everything I've tried. During a session, you might move and use your voice spontaneously.
I'm only offering other energywork below until December 31, 2026, possibly again starting 2027:
Motoki: Sit or lie down. I might rest my hands on you.
Motoki is one way martial artists help each other recover quicker. It can help with acute physical stress (e.g., headaches, sprains, strains).
Qigong: I'll invite you on a guided meditation with breathwork, maybe slow movement and/or use your voice. I might rest my hands on you.
First I'll ask you questions that can help get to the root of an issue. These are questions that some qigong teachers and acupuncturists don't have time to ask clients. I can share what I learned from live workshop series I attended that were different from drop-in classes. For example, I can share how qigong can be applied to your life and isn't just about meditation, acupressure, and slow movements.
Also, if you can't take classes from my teachers, I can share what one of my teachers, Grandmaster Chunyi Lin, said are safe ways for students to help others. Or I can direct you to certain books or classes for your specific issue. For everyone's safety, I don't mix different qigong lineages or other energywork in one session.
Reiki: Rest while sitting or lying down. I might rest my hands on you.
My clients benefited when they received 10 to 15 minutes of reiki at the end of hypnotherapy sessions. But if you want an hour-long reiki session, we can play with that.
Reiki practitioners observed that clients usually report feeling relaxed after a session, some feel energized or emotional days or weeks later.
Space clearing and blessing: beyond incense, palo santo, sage, sprays
If you feel uncomfortable in your home or office, I can try various ways to help you:
It can help if you're also open to changing things in your life and space. So if you ask, I can share some architectural fengshui tips and where to ethically and sustainably repair, donate, or recycle, or buy almost anything.
Hypnotherapy
At least two hypnotherapy sessions are necessary when working with me.
Unlike some forms of hypnotherapy, at our session:
I've seen hypnosis benefit people more than meditations without it.
Meditation
Why I don't offer McMindful meditations
According to studies:
If you intend to accept whatever thoughts and feelings arise, let's work together
That's the kind of intent I'll invite you to try during a session with me. People meditating with the intent to deal with stress reported greater anxiety, depression, and lower mindfulness compared to people using meditation to accept whatever thoughts and feelings arise. according to a 2022 study. Research has shown that trying to avoid negative thoughts and feelings is involved in almost all mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and personality disorders.
Sound therapy
Your session won't be like a sound bath. But it can still be trippy! Choose from any of the following:
How to prep before your in-person or remote session
Why I ask that you be as well-rested as you can and sober at our session
Not getting at least seven hours of sleep can affect your short- and long-term health, your work, and others.
After decades of worrying about, caring for, and being confused by many people close to me who were not well-rested or sober when communicating with me, I learned the hard way that I need to set this boundary. What people do on their own time is their choice. But if they want my time, I need to be able to make an informed choice. And yes, I can have it all.
Also, I ask that you be sober because:
Yet they didn't think they did that.
Why it can help if I work with you remotely
For some hypnotherapy, space clearing, and some qigong, I need to see you in person or on camera. If I've already met you, I might offer to work with you in person. For reiki and sound therapy, I'll ask if you'd like your session to be:
I've given sessions in all those ways. And everyone confirmed that they felt what I described to them. I told them that it would only help both of us if they gave honest feedback.
A study found that distance reiki performed online lowered people's pain, anxiety, and fatigue. Also, the Biofield Tuning forks founder tested distance sessions. For example, some practitioners work without a live connection with their clients and then they call them after to debrief.
I invite you to be off-camera, muted, or offline because I want to create a space for you that I couldn't find. Out of all the helpful healings I've experienced, no one told me before a session that if I were to ugly-cry during my session, they'd welcome it. Also, some people wouldn't feel comfortable crying in front of anyone.
Research shows people who bottled up their emotions increased their chance of premature death from all causes by more than 30%, with their risk of being diagnosed with cancer increasing by 70%. If you experience stress and don’t let yourself express your emotions, those emotions get stronger. So if you might need to heal with an ugly-cry, you can do so with or without me seeing or hearing you. Usually, I find people are more comfortable releasing whatever emotions that might come up if they’re muted with their video off.
If we meet in person, please be fragrance- and smoke-free
Skincare and cleaners can have toxic ingredients, such as “fragrance.” Any fragrance can trigger itchy eczema, asthma, and more, even essential oils. Here's where to get less-toxic personal care and cleaners.
Secondhand marijuana smoke has many of the cancer-causing chemicals in tobacco smoke and it can cause heart attacks or stroke. Even if someone smokes in another room or out of a window or door, you will still breathe in harmful chemicals. Also, a study found that people who breathed in or touched a tobacco smoker's clothes ended up with 86 times higher levels of toxic compounds in their body. That thirdhand smoke can continue to pollute air from textiles (fashion, linens, furnishings, carpet) and drywall even years after cleaning them.

Who you are
Let's work together if you:
- Have a sense of humor.
- Will try these resources (such as first seeing licensed medical professionals) and tips you and I co-create during your session.
- Calmly and curiously ask yourself and others what you can do differently (instead of only blaming others).
- Try healthy communication tips. Karma is real, especially if you're emotionally abusive :)
If you want less pessimism, prejudice, pollution, or pain for all creatures, let's meet
Feel free to work with me if you either:
- Want to be more equitable, green, or vegan beyond where my free comedy-tations took you.
- Spend most of your time helping others be equitable, green, or vegan. But you want to be more equitable to yourself, such as getting soothing sleep. My specialty might be putting people to sleep!
I highly recommend that you start with a one-hour breathwork, qigong, or tuning fork session. Also, I'm always learning something new. So for updates or subscribe to my definitely rare, possibly funny emails or social media. Or try a session because I don't always have time to share updates publicly.

- I don't provide sessions when I'm not emotionally or physically well.
- I meditate and clear and ground myself. I even do this between sessions.
- If I need to eat, I do so three hours before your session so I’m not distracted by a full stomach.

What I do when I work with you
- I’ll ask what your intention is for your session. If you’d like to tell me details, feel free. If you'd rather not, that's fine too; I’ve been able to work on specific things with people even when I knew only their first name.
- It can help if we both stay relaxed by only talking if necessary. It also helps if we start with a meditation focusing on your breath.
- All you have to do is keep your eyes closed (if that feels safe), and try to breathe into your whole body and notice what you feel, hear, smell, taste, and see. You might feel energy moving through your body.
- If in the rare case that I feel you might benefit from me resting my hands near or on your fully clothed body, I'll ask you where you feel comfortable having me do that.
- Unlike some energywork techniques, I'll invite you to decide if you're ready to let go of what might not serve you anymore. Though I can do it for you, it can be more helpful if you do it. I found that created longer-lasting healing for my clients.
- Feel free to fully express any emotions or physical sensations that come up, even if it's a good ugly-cry.
- Before your session ends, if you want me tell you what I noticed, ask. I'll usually ask if there’s anything you’d like to share.

Space clearing and blessing: beyond incense, palo santo, sage, sprays
If you feel uncomfortable in your home or office, I can try various ways to help you:
- Find the exact cause through meditation. I strongly suggest that you book an energywork session for yourself before an energywork session for your space.
- Pay respect to nature and those who lived in your space before, such as by giving what you can to a local land tax run by and for Indigenous people caring for the land through urban gardens and more.
- Create a more comfortable space that's unique to you. For example, I can share what I learned from one of my qigong teachers. It includes some but not all architectural fengshui practices, such as using a compass and more.
- How to safely buy gently used products.
- I'll first ask you to tell me your specific goal. Then during hypnosis, I'll use your own magic words to help you reach your goal.
- I won't say things like "don't do..." Experiments showed that caused people to do what they didn't want to do.
I've seen hypnosis benefit people more than meditations without it.
Meditation
Why I don't offer McMindful meditations
According to studies:
- People practicing eight or 15 minutes of mindfulness (focusing only on breathing sensations) reported feeling less guilty and less likely to make amends to those they harmed.
- People who did a loving-kindness meditation reported being significantly more likely to make amends with those they harmed. Also, studies show loving-kindness meditation can cure contempt; but if you’re tired of being kind, maybe try a compassion with equanimity meditation. If you’re in an abusive relationship (even a subtle one), what might help is enough self-compassion to leave.
- Sing songs that help you reclaim your voice. This can be a fun, movement-filled option for kids. It can be healing to sing along while having me as a supportive audience. Pick songs with equitable lyrics where you can play with different expressions of your voice (low and high, soft and loud, assertive and shy, etc.). If lyrics aren't already equitable, we can even play with changing the lyrics. And we can play with posture and movements to free your voice, such as relaxing your eyes and moving parts of your body across your midline.
- Your choice of soothing melodies from my music boxes that you or I can crank by hand.
- Theta wave music, the dominant frequency in healing and creativity.
- My metal "singing bowl" that I use as a bell. I can use them on and off your body. They might not be safe for people with epilepsy, or near tumors, epilepsy, metal implants, psoriasis, eczema, hives, or surgery sutures.
- Tuning forks. Not all tuning forks are created equal! Mine are from:
- Biofield Tuning:
- Here's what a session is like and why you might benefit more when a practitioner starts six feet away and then works toward your body.
- I can use their forks on and off your body while I invite you to say some affirmations. I got ones with a boot at the bottom so they're more comfortable than having a pointy-ish tuning fork bottom on your body.
- It might not be safe to get a session if you have a concussion from within the last three months, are pregnant, have a pacemaker, electrical or metal implant, metal toxicity, blood clots like varicose veins, dental anomalies, recent broken or fractured bones, or these conditions. If you have cancer that is not in remission, it might be safe to have a session that's 15 to 20 minutes at a time.
- If you buy from them, please ask for your order to come without any new plastic. Mine came with way more plastic than seemed necessary.
- Biosonics forks to induce alpha, beta, delta, or theta brain waves
- Globe Institute. You can go there and feel which tuning fork, bowl, chime, gong, or other instrument resonates with you. It pays to ask them to show you how to use those instruments.
- Biofield Tuning:
How to prep before your in-person or remote session
Why I ask that you be as well-rested as you can and sober at our session
Not getting at least seven hours of sleep can affect your short- and long-term health, your work, and others.
After decades of worrying about, caring for, and being confused by many people close to me who were not well-rested or sober when communicating with me, I learned the hard way that I need to set this boundary. What people do on their own time is their choice. But if they want my time, I need to be able to make an informed choice. And yes, I can have it all.
Also, I ask that you be sober because:
- A study showed cannabis users believed that the drug improved their self-awareness, and, thus, enhanced their relationships. People in a relationship with them felt otherwise.
- Another study showed people who used marijuana during a conversation:
- Issued more criticism and demands.
- Avoided conflict.
- Were less able to discuss positive aspects of their relationship.
- On-camera with you muted or unmuted
- On a call via my landline with you muted or unmuted
- Offline. You rest. Then I call you after I'm done.
